Hired by U.S. Surgical in 1990, which was then acquired by Tyco International in 1999. Covidien was then
spun off by Tyco International in 2007. Covidien was acquired by Medtronic in 2015.
Director of Accounting 2001 — 2015
Responsible for month end close for $1.7B business unit, reviewed journal entries and related supporting
schedules, reviewed balance sheet reconciliation’s, reviewed intercompany activity, performed variance
analysis with commentary on P&L and finance point person for monthly close review meeting with corporate
team. The company maintained a three day close to record all journal entries, followed by review of
financials with Shared Services Group and Management on Day Four and submission of results to
Consolidations Team Day Five. Collaborated and supported by Shared Service Group.
Developed capital planning and reporting tool that provided metrics used by management to make
capital spending decisions for $100M budget.
Provided accounting guidance and support for 10+ acquisitions including technical accounting, month
end reporting process and Covidien accounting policy compliance.
Responsible for Centers of Excellence Department. Team formed to business partner with all cost center
managers across the Selling, Marketing and G&A organizations ($400M budget) for budgeting,
forecasting and reporting.
Supported R&D department in reviewing and determining capitalization of CIP projects ($80M).
Developed process to review CIP projects on a timely basis, leading to identifying issues earlier in the
project life cycle.

Controllers. Topics included Technical Accounting issues, material balance sheet accounts and Risks &
Opportunities.
Prepared P&L and Balance Sheet along with flux commentary to Business Unit Management and

Lead contact for the coordination of Royalty agreement reviews and compliance with Legal and
Marketing teams ($10M).
Wrote and Reviewed assessments related to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
Key contributor for Kaizen project to develop a synchronized methodology to substantiate the Just-In-
Time (JIT) Rebate Reserve account ($175M; $1B P&L). Key item in Medtronic review of Covidien’s
