  1. Defining. The way we think of culture and organization. Personality. Shared Beliefs. Myth: Culture Exists if it is deliberate. False: It ALWAYS exists. DOUBLE-DOWN ON CULTURE OTHERWISE CULTURE DOUBLE-DOWNS ON YOU.

Engagement is what people feel, “I love my job” Culture is what people believe, “Vendini is committed to excellence” Engagement survey: appreciated for the work I do - therefore I love my job. 5 questions for survey: Engagement data o changes frequently, influenced by many factors o should be measured frequently (quarterly or monthly) o surveys can typically utilize Likert scale methodology and retain good results • Culture data o changes slowly, influenced by limited number of factors o should be measured less frequently (1-2 times per year) o Culture surveys must be structured to avoid important biases for accurate results

  4. 84% of the heads of businesses believe that an effective culture is critical to their success Only 15% believe it’s not so important Only 1% think is a luxury and not really necessary to succeed Organizations that made more explicit culture management efforts averaged 111% revenue growth over three years
