Life on a different planet (an imagination)
We, human beings are habituated with our life on Earth-the most familiar planet to us. Among
the nine planets in the solar system, the Earth is the most hospitable with respect to climate,
soil, environment and a lot of other things which are essential for life. Let our imagination run
wild when we try to see ourselves on a different planet, e.g., Mars. The journey of the
astronauts and the information collected during their journey has made it easy for us to
imagine life on Mars. It is a big planet-The Red Planet. Beautiful is its color. There are rivers,
hills, lush green forests, strange looking animals and much evolved humans. There we have very
tall people, ordinary looking and extremely intelligent. There are no electric trains, no buses,
only big flying saucers and vehicles like spaceships to carry people from one place to another.
Mars will have a pleasant climate. Roads will be clean and there will be roadside gardens.
Houses will be made of bricks and wood as on Earth but they will be more strongly built. The
color of the soil will be red. There will be a moon which will reflect the red soil of Mars. There
will be learning centres where scriptures will be taught by eminent scholars. People will be very
refined and cultured. Life will be interesting and active. It will be peaceful too. There will be no
quarrel, no battle among people, so there will be no need of keeping arms and weapons.
Children will get the best of education and there will be no exploitation. Human relationships
will be stronger and deeper. Love, peace, harmony and honesty shall be the principles of life.
Nature will be at its best and it will not be destroyed for satisfying man’s selfish interest.
Journey to other planets from Mars will be easier, smoother and quicker. The language will be
uniform. Food will be unique and it shall be grown on the red soil. There will be no
contamination. Life will indeed be good.
