Vibration Monitoring
• All common failure modes have distinct vibration
frequency components that can be isolated and
identified
• The amplitude of each distinct vibration component will
remain constant unless there is a change in the
operating dynamics of the machine-train

Vibration Level Standard (ISO-10816)
• RMS Vibration Level
• Frequency Range 10 Hz to 1000 Hz
• Vibration Level in Velocity Mode
• Levels: Acceptable, Intermediate, Unacceptable
• Levels depend on Machine Power
• Example for less than 1000 kW , less than 3.0 mm/s.
