4. I have to design an RECEPTION TABLE for the client. The reception table must be center of attraction of that particular
area. The requirement of client is to give space for storage of files, computer point, printer point, easy to clean, durable
etc.
CASE STUDY
5. During the tenure of my study of one year commercial design diploma, I learnt about different commercial spaces like
retail, visual merchandise, product design
The design of commercial interiors included important issues – sustainable design, security and safety, licensing, ethics in
the profession, and professional growth.
While studying product design, I had first consider the requirement of the client. I designed the product which should ne
equilibrate to the surroundings.
Along all these points I have made an brain storming paper, concept board, research board, sketches, rendered view,
color board, material board, CAD drawings.

MY DESIGN INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION – PRODUCT DESIGN
7. Interior Design is the process of shaping the experience of Interior space, through the
manipulation of spatial volume as well as surface treatment. It is a profession that includes
design development, conceptual development, management of project and execution of
design along with the communication skills.
Good Interior Design adds a new dimension to the space. Thoughtful and good design
makes the space easier too understand and experiencing such space lifts the spirit too.
It is a profession totally different from decorator. People usually have misconception that
interior design is same as decoration.
But designing is an art and science of understanding client’s behavior to create a more
functional space. He works from the beginning.
Interior Designer studies about the Orientation of space, Day lighting, ventilation, HVAC,
Lighting, Landscape etc. whereas decoration is furnishing of space with beautiful things or
accessories.
INTRODUCTION OF INTERIOR DESIGN
8. INTRODUCTION OF COMMERICAL DESIGN
Commercial interior design began when the first trade & food stalls opened somewhere in
Mesopotamia or another ancient country. Commercial facilities today have existed since
early human history.
.Commercial interiors changed for many reasons in the second half of the 20th century.
Technological changes in construction & mechanical systems, code requirements for safety,
& electronic business equipment of every kind have impacted the way business is conducted
throughout the world. Consumers of business and institutional services expect & demand
better environment as part of the experience of visiting stores, hotels, restroom, doctors’
office, and school – everywhere they go to shop or conduct business.
9. INTRODUCTION OF PRODUCT DESIGN
Product design is to create a new product to be sold by a business to its customers. A very
broad concept, it is essentially the efficient and effective generation and development of
ideas through a process that leads to new products
Product design is a set of properties of an artifact, consisting of the discrete properties of
the form (i.e., the aesthetics of the tangible good and/or service) and the function (i.e., its
capabilities) together with the holistic properties of the integrated form and function.
Product design process: the set of strategic and tactical activities, from idea generation to
commercialization, used to create a product design. In a systematic approach, product
designers conceptualize and evaluate ideas, turning them into tangible inventions and
products.
10. INTRODUCTION OF FURNITURE DESIGN
Furniture is object of applied arts intended for mobile and permanent furnishing of
residential interiors. Among other things, it serves for storage, work, eating, sitting, lying
down, sleeping and relaxing. Furniture can be used individually, in suites or sets.
A furniture suite is a collection of articles, often of different features, but with a similar
purpose, having identical or very similar aesthetic form.
A furniture set can contain both individual furniture pieces and furniture suites. Furniture
constituting and different aesthetic and structural forms
. Two main groups can be distinguished -
• CASE
• SKELEAL
12. RESEARCH BOARD – RECEPTION TABLE
For designing a RECEPTION TABLE I first do research on the type and design of table which
are used in market.
After this I do research for which purpose the reception table will going to use and I also
concerned for what purpose they want to use in the reception table.
I also do research on the different materials finishes, colors and the concept of design which
helped me in designing
