15. Most interviewers are aware of their biases. Bias can exist in the interviewer and the candidate. An interviewer who has developed their cultural competencies will do a better job of managing their biases. Asking candidates about their strengths and weaknesses are effective inclusion questions. Building a welcoming relationship with all applicants before you jump into the questions is a good practice for interviewers. It is OK to alter the job requirements in order to hire a diverse candidate.
