Strategic Initiatives
 Formulating long/short term business growth strategies including GTMs and product ideation-
commercial launch blue prints as part of the core decision making team
 Strategized and expanded the company product categories to Diabetes; launched diabetes
portfolio under the PC umbrella to minimize the risk exposure in 2003:
o Separated the Diabetes portfolio from PC under the aegis of Lupin Diabetes Care in 2005
 Launched the Ophthalmology vertical under the PC umbrella in 2010 which was eventually
separated as a separate business entity (Blue Eyes) in 2013
 Launched a focused pilot CNS portfolio under the PC umbrella; created a new brand identity
(Mind Vision) for the doctors/customers to associate Lupin with the CNS therapy area
Brand Building & Marketing
 Adopted a basket approach to scale up and establish the PC vertical; build the brand Tonact
from INR 4.5 Cr to INR 150 Cr:
o Recognition in the form of Tonact, the 1st brand of PC to enter in the Top 100 category of
IPM in 2004 and 2nd most prescribed cholesterol reducer in India
 Developed networks and formed tie-ups with some of the world’s leading scientific institutions
like Dale Carnegie and ACC (American College of Cardiology):
o Organized soft skill trainings for doctors in collaboration with Dale Carnegie
o Partnered with ACC to create the largest online portal in cardiology as a one-stop shop for
doctors; negotiated a deal for 10,000+ subscriptions

 Strategized and applied a holistic portfolio approach; clubbed together specific molecular
brands typically prescribed by cardiology doctors versus building a single brand/product
 Introduced Rhythm, a training program for doctors in India in coordination with ACC; organized
a 2 day workshop on “How to Interpret ECGs” which was attended by 4,000+ doctors
 Created a business differentiator and changed the market perception of Lupin; introduced
“Enoxaparin Molecule” in tie-up with an Italian company in Italy:
o Imported the injectables product from Italy and scaled up the quality standards of the
company; achieved the No. 2 position for the brand in the Low Molecular Heparin category
 Created brand Nebistar under the Hypertension category in 2004-05 right from product ideation
to the commercial launch; build the brand business from scratch to INR 3 Cr per month
SBU Head – Ophthalmology
 Diversified into ophthalmology therapeutic area and build the brand portfolio from scratch;
defined the strategic and operational framework including the action plans
 Conducted market research and competitive intelligence and focused on creating brand
awareness and visibility
 Forged strategic alliance with Eye-Bank Association of India; garnered emotional connect with
doctors across India by combining a social cause with commercial agenda:
o Organized various in-clinic activities and worked with celebrity brand ambassadors to
promote the cause of eye donations

 Steering efforts to form partnership with the American Academy of Ophthalmology with aim of
