2. ABOUT
THE "¡VIVA ESPAÑA!" FESTIVAL
This flamenco festival began in Moscow in 2000 gathering first the Spanish culture fans from Moscow and St.-
Petersburg. It developed very quickly and caught attention of many performers from all the country of Russia. In
2004 it took the name of "¡Viva España!" and already in 2005 the Festival received international status.
Today the Flamenco Festival "¡Viva España!" is one of the most
important events of the Russian cultural life.
Its purposes and objectives have always been exchange of
creative ideas, improvement of the professional level of Russian
flamenco artists and promotion of this art if Russia.
According to the Cultural Delegates of the Spanish Embassy
Jorge Orueta and Javier Larrache, "the Festival "¡Viva España!"
favours strengthening and development of friendly and cultural
relations between Russia and Spain".

-Flamenco is popular in more than 10 big cities of Russia (Moscow, St.-Peterburg,
Irkutsk, Samara, Volgograd, Novosibirsk, Kazan, Perm, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod)
-Flamenco audience in Russia is presented mostly by WOMEN
-The audience averages 23-55 years of age with higher-than-average incomes.
-More than 50% of the audience is highly educated.

More than 3000 guests, 500 Russian performers and 30 famous flamenco artists from Spain are going to take part in
the Fiesta-2013 .
In the Festival program there're an exhibition of photography and painting, a tasting of Spanish tapas and wines ,
flamenco fashion, master-classes given by flamenco stars, contests and many other events.
"¡VIVA ESPAÑA!" - 2013 will attract a large number of viewers and Russian mass media. The organizers of the festival
invite culture figures and important represents of the Russian business.

9. MASS MEDIA AND THE "¡VIVA ESPAÑA!"
The festival is presented by both state and commercial mass media(The First channel, RIA-Novosti, MTV, NТV,
Culture, RussiaToday, Moscow24). There're very many video clips of the Russiand and Spanish performers on
the Internet.
As guests, the festival has invited famous Russian culture figures.
Besides, the organizers received an official letter of appreciation from the public organization for people with
disabilities "Ivakon".
