2. Ferdinand I (24 August 1865 – 20 July 1927),
nicknamed Întregitorul ("the Unifier"), was King of
Romania from 10 October 1914 until his death in 1927.
3. • Ferdinand I was the "Country Enlightener," under his scepter
being the Great Union of 1918 - the most important act in the
history of the Romanian people. He became the first king of all
Romanians. He was the man of the agrarian reform - the
"peasant king" - of the electoral one and of the actions aimed
at consolidating the Romanian unitary national state. During
its thirteen years of history, Romania has made great progress
on all levels (cultural, political, economic), a truly remarkable
dynamism, which demonstrably demonstrated the
constructive vocation and intelligence of the Romanian people
that King Ferdinand identified.
