1. Frédéric Chopin was a Polish composer
and virtuoso pianist. He is widely considered one
of the greatest Romantic composers He published
his first composition at age seven and began
performing one year later.
Chopin's family were musically talented. Chopin's
father played the flute and violin. His mother
played the piano and gave lessons to boys in the
elite boarding house that the Chopins
maintained. As a result Chopin became
conversant with music in its various forms at an
early age. When he was 15, in a performance of
the work of Ignaz Moscheles, he entranced the
audience with his free improvisation, and was
acclaimed the «best pianist in Warsaw». When he
was 21 he left Poland and went to Paris.
He composed:
-59 mazurkas
-27 études and preludes,
-20 waltzes
-3 piano sonatas
- 2 concerti for piano and orchestra.
«Yesterday's concert was a success. I hasten to let
you know. I inform your Lordship that I was not a
bit nervous and played as I play when I am alone.
It went well... and I had to come back and bow
four times.».It said Chopin after his concert.
He died in 1849,when he was only 39 years old/
