9. Standing Seam Profile
The Standing Seam Roofing system has a unique‘clipping’system that combines strength
and agility to enable the material to expand and contract under normal circumstances.
This ensures that there is no damage to the material, which is fixed to the purlins with
special fasteners and the profiled sheets are clipped on to the concealed clips. Interlocking
with each other to allow easy alignment of the material, the panels are joined and sealed
together by a portable electric seamer.
Known for its aesthetic properties and performance characteristics, standing seam roofing
systems offers cost effective construction solution with numerous benefits. The profile
has been designed to provide excellent resistance to wind uplift. Manufactured on-site to
facilitate the building of roofs using very long sheet lengths, the standing seam roofing
system eliminates the need for any end laps and considerably increases the speed of
construction.
Standing Seam Profiile details Decking Profile Details
Decking Profile
Steel Deck has a special embossment rolled into the profile creating the highest bond
between concrete and the steel floor. The smaller ribs and flutes enhance our product’s
composite action and rigidity. Used in a composite design, Steel Deck performs as
a reinforcement and a permanent form support, providing savings in concrete and
reinforcement steel.
Steel Deck is produced from galvanised steel produced as per IS: 513, IS: 277, IS: 14246, and
AS: 1397-G300-Z275. Thickness of the deck can be 0.8 mm, 1 mm or 1.2 mm.

10. Purlins
Purlins are secondary structural members used to support the roof panel in a metal
building system. They act as struts that help in resisting part of the longitudinal loads that
are applied on the building such as wind and earthquake loads, and they provide lateral
bracing to the compression flanges of the main frame members thereby increasing frame
load carrying capacity.
Using cold-formed light gauge steel, Everest has predefined “ Z” sections to be used as
roof purlins. Selection of these sections depends on bay spacing (span), loadings and their
tributary load area. Design of these sections is done by MBS or in-house developed Excel
sheet (in case of IS801 code to be used).
Purlins are designed in accordance with the latest edition of American Iron and Steel
Institute (AISI), ”Cold form steel design manual”. These are available in two standard
surface finishes and in four standard thicknesses.
Devised as continuous beams, the purlin type must be the same for the whole structure,
but the thickness may vary. One of the purlin flanges is assumed to be supported with
the profile sheet. The other flange may be either supported or unsupported. Continuous
action is provided by lapping the purlin over support, by providing lapping at support.
The web of the purlins are connected to the rafters/ column by a welded plate and to each
other at purlin laps by means of machine bolts conforming to ASTM A307 M Type A or Gr.
4.6 strength bolts or equal.
As per Everest standard practice, there are three types of laps which are considered in the
design of purlins: a) L1 Lap - Short Lap b) L2 Lap - Medium Lap c) L3 Lap - Long Lap
The top flange of purlin is assumed restrained continuously through profiled cladding and
the bottom flange of purlin assumed braced on account of sag rods provided at suitable
spacing.
In braced bay when purlin comes under axial load along with bending moment, purlin
needs to be checked for combined forces.
Self-Drilling, Self-Tapping Fasteners
Self-Drilling Screws
Self-drilling screws are fasteners used for attaching roofing sheets, trims to girts and
purlins. These drill their own holes & eliminate the pre-drilling operation. Roofing Panels
are fastened by self-drilling screws with EPDM washer conforming to AS 3566 class 3 (or
equal) requirement for the corrosion resistance.
Self-Tapping Screw
Self-tapping screws are mechanical fasteners for attaching deck, panels, or other materials
to a structure. Thes tap its own threads in a pre-drilled hole.
Use recommended Everest fasteners only. Everest Self-Drilling, Self-Tapping Fasteners are
of Grade 3F superior long-lasting quality. These conform to 1000 hours salt spray test.
If poor quality fasteners are used, corrosion of its components can get transferred to the
sheets and damage them.
Everest Stitching Fastener
This Everest Fastener is appropriate for stitching of sheet to sheet without touching the
purlin.
Specification: 10-16 x 19 mm
Everest Roofing Fastener
The main fastener for roofing, Everest Roofing Fastener fixes the sheets to the purlin and
assures that it holds down against all loads.

Rooflight Panels
Everest Rooflight is a translucent panel, which is an economical method to allow natural
light into a metal building. These are field installed with self-drilling screws to a roof panel.
When used in roof, tape mastic is used at the panel perimeter. Standard panels are available
in 3250 mm nominal lengths. These are used for both roof and walls. The translucent
panels should not be placed continuously side to side on a roof along the length or width
of a building-instead it is recommended these panels on roof should be evenly distributed
for sufficient light in each bay.
A minimum of four full panel runs is recommended between translucent panel locations.
Roof panels above and below the translucent panels shall attach to a minimum of three
purlins, preferably four.Whenever possible, it is recommended that wall translucent panels
be used in lieu of roof translucent panels.
The corrugations of translucent panels match the profile ER-32-251 of Everest’s standard
panel profiles for roofing and are available in translucent white only.
Everest supplies the following as Rooflight:
1. Polycarbonate sheets available in thickness of 1.50 mm, 2.0 mm and 3.0 mm
2. FRP sheets available in 2 mm and 3.0 mm thickness
Standard size is 1.09 m x 3.20 m

Thermashield PUF Panels
Fabricated Sandwich PUF Panels are manufactured at factories. These panels are ready
to assemble for cold storage, shelters and building sheds etc. Panels are provided with
Tongue & Grove joints and specially-designed cam locks to enhance airtight assembly.
Everest Sandwich PUF panels are available with pre-coated Galvalume sheets or as
directed.
Sandwich panels consist of two thin metal skins bonded to a low density core. Normally
one metal skin is profiled and the other is lightly ribbed profile.PUF panels are made
of two skins of pre-coated Galvalume sheets normally of 0.5 mm or 0.4mm TCT in your
desired thickness and standard 40 KG/M3 density. Thickness available ranges from 30
mm to 150 mm.
Everest Sandwich PUF Panels are also available in different sizes & thickness suitable for
cold storages, telecom, shelters, controlled atmosphere air-conditioned buildings etc.
