General: The system will provide sound enhancement to amplify a teachers voice to assure speech clarity and reduce teacher fatigue.
It will employ a room contained system with one infrared wireless microphone transmitting to a dome detector. This dome is con-
nected to and powered by a receiver/amplifier unit. The receiver/amp can mix the siganls from 2 multi-media inputs and provide suf-
ficient output to power up to 4 speakers. Included with the modules are a rechargeable battery, battery recharger, and
manual.
Teacher Mic: The teacher mic is a lightweight, oval shapped microphone which hangs around the neck by a lanyard with
quick release to capture and deliver exceptionlly clear sound. It has built in infrared emitters so the user merely speaks
in the normal forward direction. The mic is powered by a single rechargeable NiMH AA battery for a period exceeding 8
hours. It can be recharged in 4 hours using the included recharger unit.
This mic also has a smart sensor charging circuit that detects if a NiMH NiCD or Alkaline battery is being used and
operates accordingly. It also prevents any accidential attempt to recharge an Alkaline cell.
Dome sensor: The dome has a 360-degree reception angle by using an array of IR detectors. Power is pro-
vided by the coax cable connecting the dome to the receiver/amp unit. The dome is 5” in diamerter and 2’ high
with a metal bracket for mounting.
Sensor Cable: A special 25 ft. plenum rated coaxial cable is used to connect the sensor and the receiver.
Receiver/amp: This receiver amp ( RA-101) takes the signal from the dome detector and mixes them with the
signals from 2 mulit-media inputs. The resulting signal is then amplified. The amp has 20 Watt RMS power with
1% THD across the fill frequency range. The response is 40Hz to 20kHz.
The unit has a Feedfack Blocker function which, in operation, prevents the
feeback of audio when the mic is brought close to an active speaker. This is
an automatic blocking operation and the system returns to normal when the
condition is removed. The unit has controls for the teacher volume, auxiliary
volume, feedback blocker, and power. Rear connections are 2 RCA type ste-
reo auxiliary inputs for TV/DVD, CD/Tape or a computer. Outputs consist of 4
independent speaker connections with spring clip locking. The unit is powered
by 24VDC at 3.5amp using a supplied 115VAC power supply.
