WEST TEXAS A&M
FIRST PITCH
The #10 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M return to Wilder Park this weekend as they
host the Regis Rangers in a four-game South Central Region series starting on
Friday night at 5 p.m. on “Marshall Kasowski Night” as the Los Angeles Dodgers
prospect returns to Canyon to throw out the first pitch with the first 100 fans
receiving a free t-shirt.
REGIS
The Rangers are led by third year head coach Mike Sirianni who has led Regis to
back-to-back appearances in the RMAC Tournament including an opening-round
win over Colorado Mesa last season. Sirianni spent the three seasons prior to
Regis as a volunteer assistant coach at Wichita State and prior to that spent three
years as the top assistant and recruiting coordinator at Newman University.
Ryan Tierney and Mickey Meinhofer led the way offensively for the Rangers as
they both registered a .500 batting averge in a pair of contests last weekend at
St. Edward’s. Kendrick Catron is 1-0 on the mount with a 0.00 ERA s he allowed
just one hit with three strikeouts in his lone inning of work so far this season.
