Interstate 27 on Tuesday night as they take on the #23 Chaps of Lubbock
Christian in a South Central Region showdown at Hays Field with first pitch
scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Lubbock.
LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN
The Chaps are guided by 16th year head coach Nathan Blackwood who has
led LCU to an overall record of 653-263 with a pair of Heartland Conference
Championships since joining the league. During their NAIA run, Lubbock
Christian University made four trips to the NAIA World Series under Blackwood’s

wit two weeks left in the regular season. LCU dropped two of three games last
weekend on the road in league action at Texas A&M-International.
LCU is led offensively by Hill Alexander who is hitting .419 on the season with 14
doubles, three triples and 12 homeruns to drive in 50 RBI with 123 total bases for
a slugging percentage of .769 as he has started all 41 games so far this season
for the Chaps.
On the mound, Chander Casey is expected to take the ball on Tuesday night as
the senior righty from Lubbock is 6-4 on the season with a 2.76 ERA as he has
allowed 22 runs (20 earned) on 56 hits with 13 walks and 70 strikeouts in his 65.1
innings of work for an opposing batting average of .232.

contender as the Norman, Oklahoma native enters his 11th season at the helm
of the Buffs. He holds an overall record of 353-213 (.624) during his decade in
Canyon while registering a career record of 452-280 (.617) in his 13 seasons in
collegiate baseball.

CORBETT MAKING A MOVE
West Texas A&M senior Joe Corbett has become one of the top pitchers in all of
Division II Baseball this season as the Edmond, Oklahoma native is making his
way up the WT career record book in multiple categories. Corbett currently sits
second in career victories with 21 to sit behind Jason Patrick (22, 1994-97) while
also ranking third in career strikeouts (212) behind Dylan James (221, 2013-14)
and Raymond Bergara (224, 2001-05). Corbett set the single-season wins record
as a junior in 2018 with a mark of 11-2 as he in just one victory shy of tying his
