Meanwhile, jobs decreased by 6% from the previous month, leading to the average number of applications per job rising from 13 in September to 16 in October. IT & Internet continue to dominate when it comes to job postings, accounting for a huge 24% of all jobs posted in October – 9% more than the next highest for job postings, Education. However, Secretarial, PAs & Admin pipped IT & Internet to the post for applications received in October – the first time in five months an industry other than IT & Internet has received the highest percentage of applications. Monday was the most active day of the week in October, being the day the majority of jobs were posted and the highest numbers of applications were received.
