Westminster Communities of Florida is privileged to have many wonderful employees who consistently “stretch” to serve our residents. Each of our Employees of the Year expresses the heart behind our Mission. The Creating Legends Program was developed to help managers “catch our employees in the act” of providing Legendary Service to our residents, their family members, and co-workers. More than 700 of our employees were caught in the act of providing Legendary Service during 2019. It is our great pleasure to celebrate the best of the best — our Employees of the Year.

Room at Westminster Oaks, and takes
pride in recognizing residents by name
and greeting them with a smile. She works
hard to make the experience special,
coaching her team and supporting the
residents who look forward to dining
every day. Mae is so special to our
residents that they nominated her for four
awards in 2019 alone.
A native of the Philippines, Mae became

have said about Daniel: “He extends
himself above and beyond.” “Thank you,
Daniel, for your ‘know-how’ and your

We see Daniel all around the

7. We could write at length about how
amazing Daly is – warm and cheerful,
dependable to a fault, and gives 100% to
everything. But what’s most legendary
about her is that she has supported our
community in an enormous number of
ways: From assisting a team member who
was trapped in an elevator, to supporting
our evacuation for Hurricane Dorian, to
helping other employees and residents
with their devices and so much more, she
was nominated 13 times for four different
awards last year alone.

8. Mary has worked at our community
for more than 32 years. In that time, she
has earned an outstanding reputation for
caring for others — both at Westminster
Towers and in her own neighborhood.
After a full day of caring for our residents,
she goes home and cooks for the many
neighborhood children who visit her.
When Mary heard that one of her co-
workers was being treated for cancer, she
sent her a card and a motivational plaque
every week! She is the living embodiment
of the Golden Rule. She describes a perfect
day as “making others happy.”

9. One day, at 1 a.m., Christine received a
call from a caregiver who was on duty at
a client’s home, requesting to be relieved
immediately because of a major family
issue. She found someone to relieve them,
only to find that the other individual had
no transportation. Christine then got in
her own car and drove 30 miles each way,
in the middle of the night, so the original
caregiver could care for their family and
we could continue to care for the client.

11. Katie shows her love and dedication for
our residents and employees every day.
When our Crossroads Cafe was closed,
she extended the shop’s hours so that
employees had the option to get a quick
lunch. If a resident has an unusual request,
she’ll make a special trip to get it on her
own time. She even found a new dry
cleaner when she noticed they were taking
advantage of the residents by tacking on
extra fees. We’re so grateful that Katie is
here to help the residents we serve.
