4. WEATHER
Like most of Thailand, the weather in Chiang Mai is typically hot and humid.
Temperatures are often close to or above 30°C and frequent rain and thunder can
be expected between June and late October. Controlled by tropical monsoons,
the climate can be separated into three main seasons.
Beginning in November, the cool season lasts until February. Normally occurring
in the northern mountains, the cooler weather encourages visitors during these
months.
Higher relative temperatures and infrequent rain are typical of the hot season,
which stretches from mid-March until late June.

5. CLOTHING
Throughout the year, Chiang Mai remains very hot. Loose, light clothing
is highly recommended and sunglasses, sun cream, and protective
hats are also advised.
Thailand is a modest country, so when visiting temples please bring
clothing that covers arms, shoulders and legs.
If you decide to visit Chiang Mai during the wetter months, it will pay to
be prepared with jackets, waterproof clothing and closed-toe shoes.
