Ron Ware Letter of Recommendation
1. February 20, 2015

Reference: Letter of Recommendation for Whit Hawkins
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Ron Ware and I am currently retired from the YMCA of Greater Houston where I
served for forty-three years. The last twenty-five years I served as Vice President of Facilities.
In that capacity I was responsible for the operations and maintenance of thirty-three YMCA
centers in the Greater Houston area. I was also responsible for the management of seventy
plus maintenance technicians and general staff.
I hired Whit Hawkins in 2004, initially as a maintenance technician at one of our major centers
and then later promoted him to the position of Group Maintenance Director. In that position
Whit is responsible for the operations and maintenance of nine centers; Aldine, Alief, Clay Road
Cypress Creek, Fort Bend, Katy, Magnolia, North Harris County, and TW Davis centers. I
supervised Whit until my retirement in 2009 and found him to be a knowledgeable employee
and one of my best facilities team members. During his employment, Whit has been awarded
two service awards, Employee of the Year and The Above and Beyond Award each of which are
given to employees of outstanding performance in the YMCA of Greater Houston.
In addition to his current duties, Whit also serves as a consultant for the maintenance and
upkeep of the YMCA's fitness equipment in all centers.
I highly recommend Whit for any position that has-management responsibility for any building,
and especially one that is designed for membership operations. Whit is in his element around
swimming pools, gyms, fitness equipment and even vehicle service management.
Sincerely,
~u~Ron Ware
