- Hello everyone, this video is about the upcoming version of PMBOK 5 and it’s impact on the PMP Exam aspirants. The changes will come into effect from 31 July 2013.
- The key changes that we see in PMBOK 5 are the Knowledge Area’s increasing from 9 to 10 with the addition of “Project Stakeholder Management”. Process Groups remains unchanged to 5 however number of Processes have increased from earlier42 to 47. There is also a 19% increase in Input, Output,Tools and Techniques which are now 614 in numbers.
- In order to improve consistency and clarity across the processes there have been some changes in the processes, a couple of them have been moved and some more added increasing the number to 47 from 42. Direct and Manage Project Execution changed to Direct and Manage Project Work Verify Scopechanged to Validate Scope Plan Quality changed to Plan Quality Management Perform Quality Control changed to Control Quality Develop Human Resource Plan changed to Plan Human Resource Management Plan Communications changed to Plan Communications Management Manage Stakeholder Expectations changed to Manage Stakeholders Engagement

- The additions in processes have been done in various subsidiary plans and in Stakeholder knowledge area. The new processes that have been added are:Plan Scope ManagementPlan Schedule ManagementPlan Cost ManagementPlan Stakeholder ManagementControl Stakeholders Engagement
- Just to reiterate the version change will be applicable from 31 July 2013. We estimate a 25%-30% change in the pattern . We have always seen an uncertainty in the pattern during a version change hence taking exam as per the current version and passing in first attempt will always be a safe bet. A sudden a spike in taking the exam is always noticed prior the version change hence it will be advisable to book your exam now and be a PMP before 31 July 2013.
