For his athletic accomplishments, William Kopenhefer earned the school's Most Inspirational Player award during the 2014 volleyball season. The year prior, he placed second in the Junior National 17's Open, a club tournament that welcomed the top 36 teams nationwide. He also stands out as a member of his school's undefeated varsity team in 2013, and he competed with the Southern California Volleyball Club six additional hours each week, plus tournament play. He began his high school volleyball career as a freshman on the junior varsity team, during which season he played on the Redondo Volleyball Tournament's all-tournament team.
