2. THE COMMANDERS CORNER
Greetings from the Lonewolves! The Troop-­
ers continue to outperform all of my expec-­
tations and moral remains high. The Distri-­
bution Platoon continues to set the standard
for FARP operations for the Brigade, by av-­
eraging 10,000 gallons of JP-­8 issued daily
for the month of February alone. However, it

M4 range since leaving Fort Bragg in Septem-­
ber 2011. The range gave Troopers in Task

3. THE HEADQUARTERS PLATOON Everything in the Headquarters Platoon has been pretty quiet
for the month of February which is a good thing;; it means all is running
smoothly. The loss of PFC Boone to the Motor Pool brought back PFC Ellis
who is now holding down his original position in Headquarters. The Company
had its Organizational Day on February 6 to go along with the celebration of the
super bowl. SGT Evans and SGT Roberts helped to make this day a success
by gathering the menu items requested from the dining facility. SGT Evans and
SGT Roberts are also currently preparing themselves for the SSG promotion
mentorship and encouragement SPC Morgan to excel and now he has made
the cut off score for SGT. Congratulations SPC Morgan! All of Headquarters
Soldiers participated at the range which was held on February 21, there was a
tie for top gunner between SSG Maldonado and PFC Ellis who both shot 36 out
of 40. As February comes to an end so does winter, all of Headquarters Sol-­
diers are looking forward to the warmer days that March will bring.
THE MAINTANENCE PLATOON
The beginning of February was full of excitement and speculation over
the Super Bowl, a few of us from the motor pool got up early enough to catch the
game and then later attended a party hosted by the FARP personnel who pro-­
vided games and good food (which made SGT Weeks happy) thanks to the
DFAC. The weather has remained cold;; making tower guard miserable;; but
With soldier of the month and promotion boards coming up for many warriors in
the platoon, study groups can be found huddling together throughout the day pre-­
paring themselves for the event. The operations in the motor pool have been the
standard unscheduled maintenance with gators going down left and right, and
performing our services scheduled throughout the year. We continue to cycle
home for R&R and with the closing of this short month we can move one more
closer to our anticipated return home.
THE DISTRIBUTION PLATOON
This month has been very quiet for everyone in our platoon. With the
cold weather and rain has brought less fueling and issuing ammo than usual.
However, even with the lull we have been keeping ourselves busy with im-­
proving our areas at the FARP and AHA, taking online courses, studying for
the board and catching up on our favorite TV series and books.
One event our company has participated in this month is a zero and
qualification range. Held over two days, Soldiers from our Echo Company
and other Soldiers in the Task Force Wolfpack will be firing. Soldiers with
M4s and M16 rifles will be able to re-­zero and qualify;; earning them points for
promotion and bragging rights with peers.
Closing the month of February, the Soldiers at the FARP said good-­
bye to the four National Guard Soldiers attached to us for the last 6 months.
The Soldiers, from 2-­135 Aviation Regiment, are based out of Colorado but
are augmented by Soldiers from Minnesota, Nebraska, Utah, Arkansas, Wyo-­
ming, Missouri, and Florida. They were a much needed help at the FARP
assisting in daily operations, from fueling, gauging trucks, recalculating fuel
bags and general maintenance and they will be missed.

4. Spot light Soldier
PFC Ellis was born Christopher Ellis on
June 29, 1988. He is from Shreveport, LA
and has one son named CJ. He joined the
army on August 10, 2010, his reason for join-­
ing was to travel the world. PFC Ellis loves
sports and he plays basketball, baseball, and
football in his spare time. PFC Ellis has just
moved back to the Headquarters Platoon and
is being spotlighted because he used his dis-­
tinguished honor graduate technical skills to
fix communications throughout each section in
the company.
SGT Steve Allen Weeks was born on
st
the 31 of July in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania.
He enjoys hunting, fishing, barbecuing and
is currently Sergeant of the Guard for FOB
Salerno Field Detention Center, where he
puts in countless hours processing and
guarding prisoners while simultaneously
working hard to complete his degree in crimi-­
nal justice. He cannot wait to go home to his
wife and hang out with his three awesome
kids.
PFC Elysse Nicole Acosta is from Rancho Cuca-­
monga, California. A very family oriented person, she enjoys
filming and editing, reading and watching movies. PFC
Acosta is an 88M currently cross-­training at the FARP as a
fuel handler and has been instrumental in helping issue over
1.3 million gals of fuel since hitting ground on FOB Salerno.
Going to school at American Military University, PFC Acosta
is currently pursuing a degree in the Film Arts as well as
Communications and Public Relations. With four brothers
and two sisters all looking up to her, she hopes to be a good
role model and make her family proud. PFC Acosta is still
unsure on her military future but plans on taking it one step
at a time and enjoying the rest of the deployment as much as
she can.

5. Recipe of the month
Double Chocolate Raspberry Parfaits

Total Time to Serve: 10 Mins.
Servings: 4
INGREDIENTS
26 Keebler® Vanilla Wafers
2 ounces white chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 package (8 oz.) reduced-fat cream cheese, softened*
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup fat-free milk
2 cups fresh raspberries
DIRECTIONS
1. Coarsely crush wafers. Combine wafers and white chocolate. Set aside. 2. Stir together sugar and cocoa powder. In small mixing bowl beat
cream cheese on medium speed of electric mixer until fluffy. Add cocoa mixture and vanilla. Beat until combined. Gradually beat in milk,
mixing until smooth.
3. In 4 parfait glasses layer half of wafer mixture, half of chocolate mixture and half of berries. Repeat layers. Enjoy immediately or refriger-
ate up to 4 hours. Garnish as desired. *NOTE: Soften cream cheese in microwave at high for 15 to 20 seconds.
