2. You control the moment. Rather than cautiously test the water, dive
straight into life with abandon. Imagine the person you want to be
and the life you want to live, then commit to them. And whatever you
do, wherever you go, don't be afraid to make a splash.

3. Here's the BEST advice I received from my Mom: Own your life. Do
not worry about the things you can’t change. The outcome: I learned
to take care of myself. I mastered the art of moving on. I use my past
to set goals for my future. I keep getting better and better.

4. It's OK to be human. I made a HUGE mistake at a job and instead of
yelling (or firing me!) my boss asked, "Did you learn anything?" The
"unspoken" advice was don't beat yourself up for not being "perfect."

— where to live, what color to paint your place, which job to take —
the best advice I've gotten is to choose. Just choose one or the

early and staying late every day. She was right; it's important to keep

12. When I was younger, a boss told me, "You can't be everything to
everybody" when he saw I was trying to be the perfect wife, mother,
supervisor. It made me take a second look at what I was doing to
Pamela Bunt myself, and see that some things are okay to let go of. Someone
