STREAMS AND VALLEYS ANNOUNCES ITS 9TH ANNUAL FRIENDS
OF THE RIVER- PARTY ON THE PLAZA
FORT WORTH – Streams and Valleys in collaboration with XTO energy, is hosting its 9th annual
Friends on the River- Party on the Plaza event from 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 23 in Montgomery Plaza.
Proceeds from the event will be used to improve the Trinity River.
The event consists of 6k-3k run, walk, or stroll, and a Fido fun run for pets. Tasting events comes
after the run activities and it features nearly 20 local restaurants. This event will include food
sampling, beer, wine and live music. Fido and friends could also have their own fun at the Paw
Pad.
“We want it to be positive, friendly and fun,” said Stacey Pierce, Executive director of Streams
and Valleys. “We are trying to get everybody attention.” The concept of sharing is very
important in Streams and Valleys events.
Ticket prices are highly based on date of purchase. Advanced ticket prices through Oct. 12 are
$33 General Registration (6K or 3K run); $38 for Chip Timed Registration (6K only) and $10 for
kids under 12. Late registration for the race will be $5 more except for kids 12 and under. For
people who don’t like running and want to have fun and party, tickets are $30. Event day tickets
are $50 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under.
