Ujk have a vast
Personal Statement
I have a vast amount of experience in all aspects of microbiology and after so many years still am passionate about isolating and
identifying organisms. I am a highly resilient and dynamic individual who has demonstrated this by successfully publishing more
than 15 research papers and posters at various microbiology meetings such as MICROBE, IBMS congress and HPE Colindale.
I have handled special situations including: urgent requests from stakeholders of the Trust, confidentiality, project management,
dealing with error logging and complaints and CPA non-compliances as well as Health and Safety incident reports. I believe that
these skills and knowledge accrued over the years will enable me for any locum posts.
Skills Profile
Communication My experience at Senior BMS level has provided me with an excellent range of communication skills where I
can communicate confidently in one-to-one situations, to an audience, over the phone and by E-mail. I am
also able to communicate both formally and informally to a wide range of people from colleagues (medical
and non-medical), company reps to senior managers.
Teamwork &
Leadership
My strengths include: having a flexible yet assertive personality, honest and hardworking, ability to work as a
part of a team as well as on my own initiative and ability to multi-task. Learning to manage small groups has
taught me to co-ordinate and delegate tasks to ensure that deadlines are met with attention to detail.
I have led my team towards total implementation of BSAC guidelines and leading projects and training on
instruments such as BACTEC, Vitek 2 and UF100.
Organisation At Russells Hall, I have developed core organisation skills and effective time management in order to
prioritise work to meet scheduled deadlines. I use these skills gained on a daily basis by keeping a diary
where I am able to plan and prioritise my work and manage time effectively to achieve and deliver project
deadlines.
IT Skills I have a very strong interest in computer applications. I have had some experience of data handling &
interpretation and using applications including: Microsoft Access, Excel and PowerPoint to display, analyse
and discuss the data as part of departmental audits, reports and publications and presentations.
