 The purpose of a smash cut is to jar the audience
with a sudden and unexpected change in image or
sound. Used sparingly, it can be effective

2.  한 긴 샷에서 다른 시간대에서 선택된 비슷한 이미지를 연결 시
키는 방법을 일컬으며, 주로 시간 의 흐름을 나타낸다, 1960년
대 프랑스 누벨바그 영화에서 장 뤽 고다르가 사용한 후 현재
많은 상업 영화에서 사용되고 있다. 이 기법은 연결된 샷들에
비 연속적인 느낌을 강하게 주며 때때로는 자연스럽지 못한 단
절적인 느낌들을 주어 때때로 긴장을 형성시키거나, 또는 관객
의 집중을 불러 일으킨다. 일반적으로는 시간을 단축시키는 방
법으로서 사용된다.
 A traditional device in which two similar images taken at
different times are cut together suggesting “time passing”.
Godard used jump cuts as an editing style to break the
conventional way of a film editing. It is disorienting by nature.
It strongly gives the shots the sense of discontinuity and is
seemingly unnatural; thus, it creates the feeling of separation
or remoteness.

7.  There are 50 cuts. Most of the shots are extreme
close-ups, except for medium shots in the shower
directly before and directly after the murder. The
combination of the close shots with the short
duration between cuts makes the sequence feel
longer, more subjective, more uncontrolled, and
more violent.

서 찍는 기법으로 촬영되는 경우도 많다.

이나 서스팬스를 형성시키거나 또는 그 두 사건이 어떤 특
정한 연관관계가 있을 것이라는 암시 등등을 줄 수 있다.
 A film technique crossing an event happening in a
location and another event happening in another one. IT
creates some spatial discontinuity, but it binds the action
together by creating a sense of cause and effect and
temporal simultaneity. Suspense or tensions may be
added by cross-cutting. The viewers may imply the two
independent events edited by cross-cutting are related
to each other.

14.  3. 강화Intensification: 주로 교차되는 샷들의 길이를 조절
함으로서 형성된다. 클라이 맥스로 감에 따라 샷의 길이
를 짧게 함으로써 이러한 강화가 형성된다.
 In general, it can be achieved by varying the length of the
shots crossed. Conventionally, it can be accomplished
by shortening the shots as the sequence approaches the
climax.

suspense, as the viewers form expectations that are

만들어내기 위해, 빠른 샷들을 연결하는 기법을 말한다.
 A montage is created through an assembly of quick cuts,
disconnected in time or place and combined to form a larger
idea.
 이 몽타주는 드라마틱한 효과를 위해 쓰이는 경우가 많다. 때로
는 어떤 사실이나 느낌 또는 생각들을 전달하거나 요약하기 위
해 쓰이기도 한다
 The montage is mostly used for dramatic impacts. It is also
used to convey or summarize facts, feelings, or thoughts.
