PROJECTS
EXPERIENCE
Robotic Hand (Selected to be displayed in College of Engineering)
• Designed the digit-coordination mechanism for a robotic hand controlled through an interactive glove
and Arduino, constructed by servos and flex sensors
Research Assistant, Soft Machines Lab
• Researched soft rigidity tuning material using electrostatic effect and fabricated using LPKF ProtoLaser
U3 and CO2
laser cutter with rapid prototyping process
• Iterated over 5 different designs and achieved 850 times increase in rigidity with 200 volts
• Worked with two master students to build a crab inspired hexapod walking robot using shape memory
alloy springs and polycarbonate board with on-board control
• Developed gripper robot using dielectric elastomer actuators and soft materials, including rubber, VHB
tapes, and Eutectic Gallium-Indium liquid metal
Brake System Leader, Formula SAE
• Redesigned the brake system and tested system functionality by simulating stress analysis on brake
rotors through Solidworks Simulation
• Assembled brake rotors, master cylinders, and calipers through brake pipes and implemented the
hydraulic brake system to the race car
• Decreased brake rotor mass by 15% with 50% increase in braking force
Project Lead, The GREEN Program
• Spearheaded an interdisciplinary capstone project focused on the development of renewable technology
in modes of transportation by installing piezoelectric generators inside of bicycle tires as power source
