Creative insight
One of the main reasons for volunteering is that it makes us feel
good. The problem is that up to 75 % of Gen-Z say they don’t feel
happy. Making it hard for them to even acknowledge that volunteer-
ing can improve their mood and sense of purpose. If you’re strug-
gling with your well-being, you lack the desire and drive to help others
or to throw yourself into activities for your community. We address
the mental wellbeing of our target group with our app - Mood for
good, by motivating them to create volunteering projects, that bring
a sense of satisfaction. We communicate in a familiar language to
Gen-Z and creating a comfortable environment. The app guides us-
ers to volunteer in small steps with tasks, challenges and sharing con-
tent and progress with others. In our app we connect individuals and
create a community that has a common goal - philanthropy.
Campaign Summary
Motivating an already actively identified Generation Z, and encour-
aging them to organize a charity event for their community and
spread awareness about how helping others makes you feel good.
Exactly that is what the program Dobro-druzi by Nadace Via does.
Contributing by mentoring to volunteer, is challenging. But how can
a young generation commit to helping others when mentally only
19 % of them feel good? And yet 96 % of GenZ report that mental
health is the most important need in life. In our strategy, we go one
step ahead of volunteering by first helping them heal themselves. By
using the Mood for Good gaming app to guide them on the path to
well-being and motivate them to help their community.
Solution
We use an interactive app, which is divided into several levels.
1. Me - which offers tasks for “Me time”. 2. Helping hand – the stage
where you are given small tasks to make yourself and others feel
better, like “baking for a neighbour.” Here you begin to realize your
potential and step out of your comfort zone. 3. Find my friends -
Connecting you with people, tackling similar topics and with com-
mon interests. 4. Find my project - invitations to events that match
your interests within the Dobro-druzi program. In the app, we use
digital formats that Gen Z encounters daily. Users earn points for
completing tasks, number of visits, but also for recording and sharing
completed tasks using the BeReal photo/video format on their social
networks. This organically spreads further awareness of our activity.
To motivate them to stay active on the app, we send push notifications.
How does it work?
To boost the awareness, we will launch the campaign on TikTok, where
the DIMA ambassador will share us on his profile. simultaneously, Gen
Z popular media HeyFomo will promote the app. The content will high-
light the feel-good factor of volunteering and draw attention to our
app. We’ll talk to the Gen Z representative who manages the popu-
lar @jsemvobraze Instagram profile about our goal in her podcast,
The Lost Generation (z). In the next phase, we will organize a #mood-
forgood challenge through a video series with our TikToker. He will
encourage other influencers and followers to use the app and share
their experiences of volunteering. Using the app will make our target
audience feel even better about volunteering and make it easy for
them to connect with people who share their interests. It is now much
easier to submit your project together to the Dobro-Druzi program.
