6. Planning the next one ...
• Choosing a location and timing that fits with our strategy
• Broadening the net versus costs
• Standalone or linked to another event
• Achieving the impossible – designing an event that surpasses GF10!
8. Let’s fix that!
• The carbon footprint of the Global Forum
is approximately 69 carbon tonnes:-
49 tonnes air travel (delegates & guests)
1 tonne ground transportation
19 tonnes Camino Real
• YBI working with Alex Tam on carbon offset deal.
Alex’s business recycles 3 tonnes of paper a day
Each tonne of recycled paper is 3.44 tones of
CO2 saved.
• If you recycled an incremental 300gm of paper
per day we would save 69 tonnes in 2 years
Guilty about your journey?

‘Networking for Impact’ (GF10 slide)
The opportunities for each of us are increased because of this great network that was established ten years ago.
Today we are collectively a network of 36 members with common goals and approach who have a total [years] of institutional experience and the achievement of having helped over 100,000 young entrepreneurs start or grow their businesses and having impacted through training, job creation hundreds of thousands more.
The logic for our network is simple, we are better placed to meet our responsibilities and seize our opportunities together than we are on our own.
We can pool our influence to attract more and better resources.
We can learn more quickly and efficiently together rather than on our own
We can share the costs of certain assets
And the very existence of our network creates new opportunities
Of course securing and sustaining these considerable benefits isn’t easy, it requires input from all. It requires your time and skill and the success of your network organisation, YBI.
‘Networking for Impact’ is therefore the theme of this Global Forum because it is precisely what this network is about
