This is my engineering portfolio containing the projects I have worked on over my college career. It describes the projects and my contributions to them for my duration of working on them. Also included are some of my work products made for the projects that I could obtain copies of.
3. PROJECT 1: ELECTRIC CAR
• This project was to design an electric car for
under $100 that is made of mostly reusable
parts.
• My project group decided that we wanted to
make our base and top plate out of poly-
carbonate plastic.
• The end goal was to participate against
other project groups in a race to see whose
car could travel the farthest within the track.
• My group finished in third place for the
competition.

4. PROJECT 1 CONT’D
• My role in the group was managing the flow of our work and making sure we stuck
to our schedule.
• I created a Gantt chart to keep track of our progress over the duration of the
project and to make sure work was distributed evenly.
• I worked on the fabrication and assembly of the electric car. I cut one of the poly-
carbonate sheets to size for the body and I assembled the main portion of the car.
• Lastly, I was a report writer for the group and took on editing our project reports in
addition to writing portions of it.
6. PROJECT 2: LEGO CHAIRS FOR THE NORTH
MUSEUM OF SCIENCE IN LANCASTER
Figure 1: Initial Design
Figure 2: Last Design
• This project was to design chairs for kids in grades kindergarten to fourth.
The museum wanted us to design a chair for the kids to sit at a table that
also had storage inside of it. Unfortunately, we never got to the fabrication
stage of the project due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• My role in the group was as the liaison between us and the museum curator.
I emailed him initially setting up a time to meet and discuss the project and
our intentions moving forward. I sent him the design changes and asked for
his input on them to make sure the group was still in alignment with his
vision. I relayed messages back to my group from our client, so we were
aware of what to change or if we were on track for the future.
• Also, I was one of the main report writers for the group in addition to
writing other content. I wrote the team contract for my project group
containing how we would conduct meetings and disperse roles.
7. PROJECT 3: ARTICULATED
4 DEGREE OF FREEDOM
ROBOTIC ARM
• My senior project group decided to
create an articulated 4 degree of
freedom robotic arm.
• The plan is to donate the arm to our
engineering department so future
student groups at the college can use it
for research or other projects.
• Our main goal with the project is to
create a well documented base model
that is easy to use.

8. PROJECT 3 CONT’D
• My role in the group originally started out with
doing market research to see what current
models of robotic arms were available.
Through my research I gathered information on
numerous robots with varying degrees of
functionality and price.
• My next task was to work on the free body
diagrams (FBD) for the original design of the
arm.
• I marked the points of contact force and
moments on the diagram to show the
interactions of force on each part of the arm.
9. PROJECT 3 CONT’D
• Once we had a more complete design
for the arm, I conducted a constraint
analysis on it using Autodesk Inventor.
• I used the basic stack up constraint tool
to test for areas of collision.
• The tables on the right are showing the
stack up of selected areas and if there
are points of overlap.
• For the overall model there are a few
area of overlap for parts. Those parts
were expected to overlap because
they are the clips to hold the motor in
place. These areas are intended to be
tight space, so the motors don’t fall out
while the arm is in use.
10. PROJECT 3 CONT’D
• My next job for the project was to
create a testing procedure for the
arm.
• I created procedures for testing
motors, holding weight, lifting
capacity, limit switches, and
repeatability.
• Attached is the written procedure
for conducting tests for the arm.

12. PROJECT 4: TITAN X-1 ROVER
• This is a design project I did where I
created a possible rover for Saturn’s moon
called Titan.
• Attached is the the full research paper that
outlines my thinking and process behind my
decisions for it.
• Additionally in the paper there is other
drawings for the suspension, wheels, and
cameras.
