SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 years managerial and planning
experience, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing environment. An above
average knowledge of SAP and Excel is essential with a strong focus on the use of
formulas/graphs etc.
The incumbent should be experienced in the production planning cycle and MUST
have the ability to work in a pressurised environment, with exceptional problem
solving and customer relationship skills. The candidate must be able to deal with
irate customers and diffuse tense situations, whilst remaining calm and have the
ability to think on their feet. Good decision making skills, a proactive approach and
the ability to adapt and react quickly to change within the production processes and
customer requirements are further attributes of the ideal candidate.
The target of the position is to ensure a cost effective procurement and supply of
materials and components to production so that customer deliveries can be effected
and delivered on time.
Some of the main tasks include (but are not limited to):-
 Ensure that material planning is accurate and the SAP system is effectively
utilized.
 Ensure that all customer requirements are met and delivered timeously and in a
cost effective manner.
 Ensure Suppliers are providing the best possible price and service to the
Company.
 Ensure that negotiations and other Supplier dealings adhere to the Personal
Conduct policy and all Procurement procedures.
 Ensure that effective and legally compliant Service contracts are established
where possible, and are updated/re-negotiated as and when required.
 Ensure that stock levels are optimal, and raw material and parts are maintained
at all times.
 Ensure that the SAP system is always an accurate reflection of incoming, existing
and outgoing stock.
 Ensure that monthly/quarterly stock status reports indicate an accurate
investment in stock, stock losses, stock outs and availability to meet delivery
commitments.
 Responsibility and accountability for all stock takes
Due to the nature of the job, an ITC and criminal check will be required for all
personnel who wish to apply for this position.
R45,000 – R50,000 GROSS + company contribution to benefits (50% Medical aid,
8% Pension fund, and 13th cheque)
