3. HISTORY
● Judaism dates back to around 1800 BC. It is the traditional religion of the Jews. The
column of Merneftha, which dates back to around 1800 BC is one of the oldest
records of Jews in Israel which developed the monotheistic religion of Judaism. As
result of the conquests and extensions accepted by 8th century BC, made the
appearance of the Jewish Diaspora. Defeats between Jews and Romans wars in the
70's and 135 AD contributed significantly to population size and geographic
distribution diaspora, as significant numbers of the Jewish population of Israel were
exiled and sold as slaves throughout the empire. Since then the Jews have lived
throughout Europe and the broader Middle East, surviving through events racism,
hardships, poverty, and even genocide waves with some periods of cultural,
economic and individual prosperity. On Salonica synagogues and preached by the

language and so many people had the opportunity to know the truths the Bible and to

4. TEACHING OF JUDAISM
1. There is only one God and God provides standards of right
and wrong that people should follow.
2. Treat others well.
3. Honor the Sabbath. Judaism teaches that Jews should spend
one day a week, the Sabbath, focusing on things other than
work and material concerns. This is the origin of the idea of a
weekly day of rest that is part of many religions and is widely
followed in many parts of the world.
4. Pray. Pray before and after meals, before beginning a
journey, when they see a natural wonder, and at other times
when they need help or want to express thanks.
5. Judaism teaches that studying the Hebrew Bible and other
Jewish texts leads to wisdom and good deeds, so Jewish

● Israel is the only country in the world today
where Jews are the majority of the
population.
● In America, Jews make up perhaps 2% of
the population, and in the world as a whole,
maybe 0.2%. It is against Saudi law for any
Jew to set foot in the country, and in Jordan
and the Palestinian Authority, it is a capital
crime to sell land to a Jew.
