2. October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month, people
commemorate, remember, and heighten their awareness of breast
cancer. Breast cancer and cancer in general, is not an ailment worth
ignoring. It should have action. If ignored and disregarded, cancer can
be a lethal disease. That is why having breast cancer is not a burden but
a challenge to surpass. Many have become breast cancer survivors
because they were aware of what the disease is. They know how to
remedy it. Awareness is important. Generally, treatment is expensive.
That’s why many have tried ways to earn money like trying to sell old
BlackBerry phones, loan money from banks, work harder, or depend on
health care benefits. In whatever way they can, all they do is for survival.
Having severe breast cancer is not a joke. Most severe breast cancers are
lethal. As the cliché saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure.”
Detecting this lethal disease is the best remedy to such a treacherous
killer. Like all sickness, breast cancer has distinct symptoms. Initially, this
disease may not cause any symptoms. A lump can appear in different
sizes, so looking for it may be very hard. Going to the hospital and having
a mammography is the best way to detect it. May it be big or small; lumps
are usually the best indicators for breast cancer. It’s best to consult a
doctor for assurance. In addition, these usually are the symptoms:

redness, scaliness, or thickening of the nipple or breast skin
a nipple discharge other than breast milk
a lump in the underarm area
There are cases when the lumps are benign, or non-cancerous for that
matter. But, whether it is cancerous or not, it’s still best to have your
breasts regularly checked-up, may you be a man or a woman. That way,
you don’t spend too much that may cause you to sell your BlackBerry for
