What a CEO Does
“ A CEO does only three things. Sets the overall vision and strategy of the
company and communicates it to all stakeholders. Recruits, hires, and retains
the very best talent for the company. Makes sure there is always enough cash in
the bank. ”

Feel yourself
● By far the most difficult skill to learn as CEO was the ability to manage my
own psychology, keeping my mind in check
● As a CEO, take care of yourself otherwise you risk the burnout and the
consequence is that everybody within your company will be burnt out
● Being a CEO means work on yourself otherwise you can’t work on others
● Being responsible for everything is heavy, emotionally speaking.
● Making space for reflection

03 CEO manages and need to
be managed
People you work with first!
● A CEO should teach high performers and not lose time in teaching poor
performers (counterintuitive)
● A CEO’s job is to give constant feedback. Push people you manage to their
fullest potential
● Being inspired by people that have different challenges to you
● Creating harmony within the team
● Letting go and delegating

Biggest challenges
● Alignment and prioritisation to not be overwhelmed. A CEO must have a
set of clear priorities to make it happen. He/she must also make this clear
for the people he/she is working with
● Navigating and communicating constant change. Setting boundaries
around communication tools
● Making progress amidst chaos
1. Our customers are at the core of everything we do: their success is our success.
2. Work hard and aim high: great things will follow.
3. Strive for quality in everything you create and do.
4. Time is our most important asset: take charge and move fast.
5. Grow and always learn from the occasional failures along the way.
6. Data and an accurate understanding of reality are at the base of our decisions.
7. Fairness and transparency are at the base of everything we do.
8. Work as one team, help each other, rely on everyone’s skills.
9. Embrace change as the ground for innovation and progress.
10. No partial credits.
