Kobe Bryant was born in 1978 in Philadelphia and played shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers. He attended Lower Merion High School where he was a star player, averaging over 30 points per game and leading his team to a state championship. Bryant decided to enter the NBA directly after high school and enjoyed a successful 20-year career, winning 5 NBA championships and being named the NBA's Most Valuable Player in 2008.
