What is going on at BMS?
You have been granted access to take part in a new
challenge. This challenge is going to require you to
work as a team to design and create a contraption to
help keep an egg safe. There are rules to this
challenge and you will have to do some initial
learning before you begin to experiment with your
designs and contraptions.

and insight. This year we are going to get our hands dirty and join
in the fun. Be ready to see if you can craft something better than
the teachers.

Egg Drop Design Requirements & Scoring
1. You may not use any kind of
manufactured box, tube, container,
carton, or pre-made structure
(such as a cereal box, poster
tube, toy, or egg carton)! You
may use the cardboard from at
least three different boxes to
build your own!
2. You may not use Styrofoam,
Styrofoam packing peanuts, intact
rubber bands (broken ones are
okay), pre-made pillows or
cushions, or sponges.
3. Parachutes and balloons on the
outside of your contraption are
not permitted.
4. However, you can attach OTHER
things to the sides/top/bottom of
your creation to slow its descent
(anything that creates drag or
produces friction with the air is
good).
