2. Primary research
Primary research is research carried out that
provides the person with information that they
are able to display to others or use themselves.
6. Why it is important?
• It is very important to carry out research
before creating a media product because it
allows you to find information on similar ideas
that have done well in order to strengthen
your product. It also gives a good indication
on a plan that can save time when making the
product.
7. Research carried out As and A2
• A2 research into the thriller genre
• Characters that are seen within that genre
• Audience feedback
• Conventions
• Legal guidelines
• Settings
• Locations
• Camera techniques
• Opening sequences
8. A2
• Research into the dramatic genre
• Audience feedback
• Conventions
• Locations
• Legal guidelines
• Theorists
• Camera techniques
9. What forms where most useful
research?
• The form that was most useful within research
was similar texts as this gave a good example
of what information and characters the
audience respond to best in a production
chosen.
10. Ways digital media
• Digital media could have been used more for
carrying out research for media products
throughout the production by making sure
that I use more applications similar to
PowerPoint in order to be able to make things
stand out more.
11. Term creative
• The term creative means when the use of
imagination is used to come up with either a
new idea of a product or build on something
that has already been created.
12. AS and A2 portfolio productions are
creative?
• As I believe hasn’t been as creative as my A2
as my overall idea on my As production
consisted of a cliché idea that Is seen In the
majority of the chosen genre productions.
• My A2 however I believe is creative as the idea
of supernatural in a dramatic trailer isnt
usually seen so builds the idea of something
different making it creative.
