What will happen to grapes in saltwater?
Osmosis is the process of the movement of solvent molecules through a semipermeable
membrane from a region of higher solvent concentration to the region of lower solvent
concentration. If grapes are placed in a salt solution that is more concentrated than cell sap (Cell
sap is a fluid found in the vacuoles small cavities of the living cell, it contains variable amounts of
food and waste materials, inorganic salts, and nitrogenous compounds), exosmosis will happen
and grapes will shrink.
