POSITION SUMMARY:
The data analyst provides analytic/research support to Psychometricians and Statisticians through data
management, data dissemination, and statistical analysis. This position reports to the Director of Psychometric
Operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform statistical analyses for quantitative/qualitative research projects.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and document statistical/analytical computer algorithms in high-level
software packages.
• Assure data accuracy and completeness in reports, files and database.
• Develop, document, update, and maintain analytical data files and databases.
• Conduct literature review for designated research projects.
• Contribute ideas for project management and quality improvement.
• Assist in developing and proofreading grant applications, technical reports, publications and presentations.
• Chart data for research presentations and statistical reports.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to work independently as well as with others.
• Ability to manage time, work with changing deadlines and prioritize work.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Strong quantitative analytical and research skills are essential.
• Abelatedility to extract data from large databases and files for statistical analysis and report generation.
• Strong working experience with basic statistical packages (Experience with SAS is essential).
• Experience with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint is essential.
• Experience with database query language (SQL, PL/SQL) is highly desirable.
• Experience with item response theory scoring and calibrations is highly desirable.
• Understanding of basic research methodology and survey instrument design is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree, with three years of experience in data analysis and management is essential.
• Master’s degree in Health Services Research, Biostatistics, Applied Statistics, Public Health, Health Policy,
Sociology, Psychology, Measurement, or a r field is highly desirable.
