Tunisia bid to host Wikimania 2015 in the coastal city of Monastir due to its calm, secure environment with sun, sea and tradition. A local youth organization called JCI ENIT helped organize the bid, which required overcoming challenges like limited local Wikipedia editing experience, language barriers, and convincing officials. If selected, they planned workshops teaching Wikipedia editing and improving Wikitravel's Monastir page, while generally expanding Arabic content and evaluating future Wiki projects in Tunisia.
