- 1. Welcome to your Centerville Middle School Library Mrs. Deck- Librarian Mrs. Zeigler- Library Aide
- 2. What can you do at the library? • Check out materials. • Do research • Read!
- 3. When can you visit the library? • With a class • During Flex • Before and after school • Library hours: 7:15- 3:00
- 4. Checking out Materials • 3 books at a time • Overnight materials- Check out after 6th period, back before 1st period the next day. • All other materials- 10 school days. • MUST HAVE THE BOOK WITH YOU TO RENEW.
- 5. If your book is late… • Fines: –Regular books- $.10 per day excluding weekends, holidays, and illness –Overnight materials- $.25 per day.
- 6. If your book is lost • You will be fined the replacement cost. • If found, you will be refunded money, minus $2.00 fine. • Minimum charge for lost book- $11.00 • SCHOOL POLICY IS THAT IF A BOOK, ETC. IS NOT IN THE LIBRARY AND IS CHECKED OUT TO YOU, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT BOOK.
- 7. When you visit the library with your class… • You MUST bring your library folder! • Look at the whiteboard for instructions and take handouts. • Keep needed materials at your table. • Place all other items on the shelf
- 8. • Be on time • Bathroom- Privilege passes • All points given or lost will apply to your grade in the class for which you are doing the project.
- 9. Do • Enter quietly • Work quietly • Follow the Responsible Use Policy • Bring needed materials • Be here on time • Come to the library for reading, research and technology
- 10. Do Not • Visit the library to socialize • Use phones, i-pods, and other devices for non- academic purposes • Damage library materials and equipment • Disrespect library staff • Chew gum • Change seats

- 13. Research Pass • 40 passes per flex • Distributed ONLY by the staff • Students must stay in the library for the entire flex x
- 14. Recreational Reading Pass • 40 passes per flex • Distributed ONLY by the staff • Students must stay in the library for the entire flex
- 15. Book Exchange Pass • "Revolving Door" pass • One per classroom • Used to return books and check out new ones • 10 minutes!
