2. I've waited all day for my cup of gruel My stomach hurts

3. I sit still; that way I don’t get so dizzy.

4. There are so many of us. I subsist as best I can.

5. A cloud of dust covers my body, the flies buzz around my eyes.

6. My mom and dad died in the fighting.

7. They tell me I'm lucky to be alive. am I ? in the fighting.

8. I’ve seen so many guns, so many people being killed .

9. It is good that I am too weak to have nightmares.

10. Sometimes I watch the bugs crawling around. They seem to have such purpose.

11. I work on continuing to breathe….

12. I don't remember the last time I laughed.

13. It must have been when my mom was holding me, before the fighting began. That seems so long ago….

14. I hold on tight to something. Maybe it's called hope .
