The Trevor Project was established to provide support for LGBTQ youth, as they are at higher risk for suicide than heterosexual youth. The organization operates a 24/7 suicide prevention hotline, as well as online chat and community spaces. It aims to create a safe and accepting environment for youth to receive help regarding their orientation, gender identity or mental health. The Trevor Project also conducts outreach activities to educate communities on LGBTQ youth issues.
