10. What we observed till now?
● Till previous slide, its clearly evident that women are omnipresent. i.e.
widely spread across multiple verticals. So, incompetency is definitely
not the reason behind the low female-male ratio in tech
● Female-Male ratio too is healthy on planet Earth as well. So, there is no
scarcity of women on our planet.
13. Our Experience

● While we worked in this direction for 4+ years now, we realized the problems
from boths ends. i.e. women and organization.
● 44% of our current workforce are women
● A humble beginning for a long journey
● Drupal provided varied set of levels for career path

-- A Sanskrit Verse prevalent at our place.
-- The land where I come from carries the values I just mentioned.
-- We call it mother India, mother Earth. That what we’ve been taught since childhood and thats the value we carry and pass on to the generations to come.
-- Why I said this? Well, this shows the value we carry for women in our society since centuries
-- Lets begin our session by remembering the women coders who broke the jinx and paved way for women in tech which is not about women acting like men, but being themselves and being successful
-- This presentation by any means is not about comparing the genders
-- Countless women achievers can be found since human inception.
-- Few of those achievers are shown here. The struggle they faced, efforts they put in, obsession they had, the zeal to excel/perform

Then where the problem lies?
-- Stats above clearly shows the diversity disturbance
-- 44%: that establishes our point to start from within
-- Successfully able to recruit and retain women
-- Drupal played a crucial role
The ignorance to the very much fact, the ignorance to the very much cause, the ignorance to the very much topic
Wasn’t a widespread myth, but atleast existed, so we broke that
We understood and embraced that priority very well and hence been able to successfully retain great ppl
We kept calm and focused on skill set but not any rumours/criticism
-- We’ve women who joined us as trainees and chose their path as per their interest & skills and performing very well in the career
-- We are equally thankful to their family members who rose up to the challenge and laid the platform for their ladies and being supportive in the fantastic journey throughout

-- Isolated efforts are not enough for sustained change. Organizations must take a comprehensive, systemic approach in order to increase gender diversity.
-- Many researches conducted, due to paucity of time, just showing one of them which clearly shows the benefits of diversity.
