1. The artist Adele cross promoted herself with the new film
James Bond because she created a soundtrack for his film
Skyfall. This is therefore promoting Adele herself, her songs
and the film.This was prime research for our group to learn
and understand how artists get their music promoted to
different areas and even gain new fans!
2. The music video that
Adele has created is
mostly clips from the
film Skyfall itself and
then Adele promotes
herself using many
images from the film
and its set theme with
posters and album
covers.
3. Our music video isn't cross promoted so we
created our album cover and poster
independently on our artist and his style.
They all have a consistent style of black and
white whilst the edges are always jagged.
4. The music video uses
different colours
throughout so compared to
the digipack the style
changes. We also made
sure we added links to
various networking sites
such as twitter, facebook
and tumblr. The artists
face is used a lot
throughout the digipack to
ensure people notice him
and hope the fans
recognise him which
therefore promotes the
album.
5. Many artists I have
researched have kept
the consistency from
their music video to
their album covers and
then their posters and
promotional products.
Lana Del Rey is a
prime example as she
uses the exact same
image from her album
cover on her posters to
promote the album!
6. Lana Del Rey uses her image
more than her music to
sell, as her star image is
perpetuated throughout
her video and her album
cover/poster. This is what
made her go viral in the
first place as she is
conventionally attractive
so she uses this to her
advantage.
7. All our products from the
music video itself to
the poster and album
cover keep a
consistent style and
highlight the aspects
of the artists in such a
way to make the
audience recognise
him and therefore
promote the album and
the music video to
increase sales.
