3.  STaR is the online resource tool for self-
assessment for campus/districts to rate
themselves on the integration of technology
across the curriculum
 Aligned with the Texas Long-Range Plan for
Technology (LRPT) 2006-2020

4.  All teachers are required by federal reporting
requirements to participate in the online
survey
 NCLB Act of 2001 require that a child be
computer literate by the end of 8th grade
 NCLB, Title II, Part D states that all teachers
should be technology literate and integrate
technology across curriculum

5.  State funded technology grants require a
STaR report to be filed with the application
 Campus and/or district will refer to the
results when engaging in technology
planning and budgeting.
 Identify equipment or professional
development needs of staff
 Identify progress towards mastery of the
Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology
