PICS bags are improved hermetic grain storage technologies introduced in Tanzania to reduce post-harvest grain losses among smallholder farmers. Traditional storage results in 20-40% grain losses, affecting food security. This study evaluates the financial gains of PICS bags compared to traditional polypropylene bags through participatory cost-benefit analyses and household surveys. The results will help policymakers and practitioners enhance food security and farm income through better post-harvest grain management.
