2. Plant Preservation:
 It is a process:
 To keep plant safe from decomposition or destruction.
 To keep plants safe from injury and
 Reserve them for personal or special use.

3. Methods of preservation:
 Air drying
 Microwave drying
 Pressing
 Freeze drying

4. Principle of preservation:
 The principle of drying is same in each method i.e.
 to remove moisture slowly while at same time maintaining as much of the
original shape and texture as possible.

5. Air drying:
 Simplest and least expensive method.
 Takes little time.
 Produces satisfactory results.
Method:
 Hang the plant part in well ventilated room.

7. Microwave drying:
 Takes less time i.e few minutes.
 Provides material that looks fresher and more colourful than any
other method.
 Before placing in microwave put the plant part in a supportive
substance.
 Supportive substance include microwave approved containers.

9. Pressing:
 Plant part can be preserved by pressing them between layers of
newspaper.
 Place heavy weight flat object on top of newspaper.
 It takes approximately 1-2 week to dry.

10. Freeze drying:
 It results in most natural-looking preserved materials.
 But this approach requires specialized and expensive equipment and
is best accomplished by professionals.
