The document describes a smartphone accessory solution for business travelers. It discusses prototyping a carrying case that holds a smartphone, has a built-in battery charger powered by AA batteries, and stores charging cords. The solution was developed through user interviews identifying problems with battery life and unprofessional cords during trips, exploring accessory ideas, prototyping and refining a case, and the final product will be available for $50-60.

3. Interview
I interviewed my dad, who has a law firm
and has to travel often to meet clients.
He said the biggest problem with his
smartphone during travelling is its
battery life.
4. Explore
Here are some of the ideas I got from
the explore step.
Portable charger.

Signal Booster
Backup Battery
6. Prototype/Refine
I did both of these steps at the same time. I
found and solved the problems of my
prototype while working on it.
One problem that I had was that the clip’s
connection to the case interfeared with the
area that the smartphone was going to be
held in.
I solved this problem by moving the clip to
the side that the cords were stored on, thus
preventing damage to the smartphone.
16. Extras and Price
The accessory will
also come with a
portable charger that
uses AA batteries and
a stylus.
They will be produced
by an outside
company.
The price of each unit
will be somewhere
around $50-60 per
unit.
