2. Why is PDHPE Important
Health is an important factor in our lives and can
affect children and adults.
it is important for children to be educated about
being healthy from a younger age so that they
are encouraged to stay healthy and to adopt a
healthy lifestyles into adulthood.
3. Positive lifestyles
The teaching of PDHPE is valued because:
it is an important part of social, emotional, physical
and cognitive development of children
Children are informed about issues that affect their
health, while promoting positive lifestyle attitudes
and choices
4. Learning skills
PDHPE helps children adopt many useful skills such as
Communicating skills
Moving skills
Interaction skills
Problem solving skills
These skills can be used in all aspects of life and
helps children even when they are adults.
5. Physical Activity
Physical activity is an important part of children’s
mental and physical health.
It helps to reduce the risk of obesity and heart
disease.
Children now days do not get enough physical
activity because of technology therefor much of
their time is spent behind computers and other
source of technology.
6. Our role as parents and
teachers
As parents and teachers we need to encourage
physical activity so that it can help students become
fitter which will help them concentrate better at school.
We need to promote healthy eating and healthy
lifestyle both at home and at school so that children
can stay healthy and fit.
