Synopsis
Hunger games is based in the future, totalitarian
nation that divided into 12 districts and the
Capitol. Each year two young representatives
from each district are selected by a draw and
expected to participate in the Hunger Games.
The games requires them to eliminate the other
citizens in the games while it is televised to the
public.
3. The Difference Between Communism
and Socialism
• Communism and socialism are both economic
systems of production based on public
ownership and planning.
• Socialism promotes equality whereas
communism seeks to eliminate social classes.
• A communist society everything is owned by
the working class and everything works
towards the same goal.
4. Link to Marxism
In the clip from the Hunger Games ‘Shooting the
Apple’ we see the main character, Katniss Everdeen,
who is taking part in the games, performing archery
in front of those above her, members of the capitol.
As she performs they are disinterested and only pay
attention when she fails to hit the target. Once she
hits the target the members show no appreciation
and in bid to cause a reaction. The members are
surrounded by food, dressed in expensive clothes
and luxury furniture, while Katniss in protect gear.
